Collector Sadiq seeks current status of cases pending in courts

FAISALABAD: Collector of Customs Collectorate Muhammad Sadiq has directed the officials to prepare a report of the cases which are pending in different courts. He said that the report be presented before him as soon as possible with current status of the cases.

Sources told Customs Today, that the officials of the Collectorate have started compiling the record of the cases which have been decided or pending since the last fiscal year.

The sources said that around 10 cases are pending in different courts, including Customs Appellate, Customs Tribunal, and Lahore High Court and others. Sources said that four cases are pending in Lahore High Court and six cases are pending in Customs Appellate Tribunal.

The sources further disclosed that millions of rupees are stuck up in different courts adding that the customs authorities are pursuing the cases at regular intervals.

Replying to a query, the sources informed that the Collector Muhammad Sadiq has asked the collector Adjudication to hire a competent and skilled solicitor for hearing of the legal cases on behalf of Pakistan Customs FBR. So that the pending cases could be decided soon adding that stuck revenue could be retrieved by following the cases in proper manner.
