Customs court hears 17 cases; adjourns most of them

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 17 important cases on Saturday and adjourned most of the cases until the next hearings.

At least 17 cases of different types, including pre-arrest bail pleas filed by accused persons, were scheduled for the day. The court adjourned the bail pleas of Azhar, Haseeb, Muhammad Ayub Khan, Shafqat Ali and Shahbaz until the next hearings.
The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day.
A case of Tariq Kazmi, allegedly involved in mobile smuggling, was also scheduled for hearing in which court recorded statements of the parties and adjourned it for next week.
The cases of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were scheduled for the day.
