MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has seized Rs7.3 million goods and vehicles in the first eight days of May during their active operations against smuggling in the Jurisdiction.
Sources told Customs Today that Rs27.10 million good and vehicles were seized during the month of April in their various anti-smuggling operations.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Intelligence Multan Range Office carried out different anti-smuggling operations against smuggled goods and vehicles on the directions of Deputy Director Abdul Mueed Kanjoo. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation formed 17 different seizure cases in their actions during the month of April in the on-going fiscal year 2016-17.
Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) has impounded 13 various non-customs paid vehicles of Rs15.40 million during their different actions in the month of April. These seized vehicles include Toyota Vitz, Mazda mini truck, Suzuki Swift, Hino truck, Suzuki Sierra jeep, Toyota Corolla X, Suzuki Alto, Toyota Premio, Hino Ranger truck and others. These vehicles were impounded by Customs Intelligence teams due to non-payment of their duty taxes and all these seized vehicles were transported through unauthorized routes.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan teams have formed five different seizure cases of worth Rs11.70 million in their actions from Multan Region. The Field Intelligence Unit has detected seven various seizure cases of Rs6.10 million from Dera Ghazi Khan during April.
Sadiqabad Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has also formed five various seizure cases of worth Rs9.3 million in their anti-smuggling activities throughout April. Customs teams have enhanced the monitoring of goods and vehicles to foil any attempt of smuggling in the jurisdiction.
