ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Shakil Ahmed as judge of the Customs, Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Court.
According to details, the appointment was made by the federal government in exercise of powers conferred by section 185(2), Customs Act, 1969. It was further stated that the appointment was made for the period of three years on deputation basis.
The ministry had made this appointment on the post of the district judge in Lahore. Ahmed would continue to work at the post until further orders from the date of charge assumption, the notification further stated.
Earlier, the Ministry of Law and Justice Pakistan has notified appointment of Agha Shahid Majeed as Member Technical (BS-21) at Customs Appellate Tribunal, Peshawar.
The notification had been delivered to the several offices of state including the Cabinet Division, Establishment Division, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Customs Appellate Tribunal and others.
It is pertinent to mention that ministry had lately appointed Lubna Farukh Mirza at Tribunal’s Karachi office on December 30, 2016.
Notification details showed that Mirza’s appointment was made in exercise of powers conferred by section 130 (4) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. She was appointed as officer of Inland Revenue Service, Account Member (BPS-21) in the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue, Karachi.
The notification had been delivered to the several offices of state including the Cabinet Division, Establishment Division, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Customs Appellate Tribunal and others.
The Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had approved all the said appointments after reviewing the summaries forwarded by the ministry in this regard.
