KARACHI: Hearing a constitution petition filed by Raja Brothers, importers of sanitary towel (pads), an appellate bench of High Court of Sindh on Thursday ordered fixing of the same with a connected bunch of petitions for May 15.
Earlier the counsel for petitioner company submitted that the petition involved issued already raised before the court in a connected bunch of identical petitions on identical issue. The petitioner’s counsel submitted that Director General Valuation in transgression of powers vested into him enhanced the value of the consignment of the petition to $2.55 per kilogram beyond Valuation Ruling (VR) 870/2016.
He also submitted that the petitioner filed an appeal before the Special Customs Appellate Tribunal which has set aside the Order in Revision but still consignment was not being released.
