Islamabad Car Cell impounds smuggled BMW car worth Rs03.00m

ISLAMABAD: The Car Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) impounded a Non-Duty Paid (NDP) BMW car modelled 2005-04-door of 530i Series valued Rs03.00million on Tuesday.

On a tip-off shared by Collector MCC Dr. Arslan, the Car Cell set up a picket at Barakahu (Civic Center) and intercepted a Non-Duty-Paid car with a nil name plate. Upon the interception, the possessor of the BMW ran away from the spot.
After the firsthand investigation, the car cell impounded the vehicle and brought it to the state warehouse. The appraised value of the vehicle is Rs03.00million. The car has been impounded under the Customs Act-1969, and the documents of the vehicle have been sent to the I&P department for further examination. The car came from Quetta and roaming in the Barakahu city.
The car sell squad comprised Chaudhry Safdar, Superintendent, and Rana Shakeel along with Bilal Yaqoob, Sepoy.
The car cell acquitted itself well by impounding four NDP vehicles during April valued Rs4.9million. During the month of March 2016-17, the car cell impounded six NDP vehicles valued Rs21.22million.
