Kohat Auction Cell receives Rs10.31m duty & taxes thru public sale of vehicles & goods

KOHAT: The Kohat Auction Cell earned Rs10.31million all duty and taxes by auctioning off various kinds of impounded smuggled goods and Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles during the initial 15 days of May of Financial Year (FY) 2016-17.

The Kohat Auction cell held its first auction of confiscated smuggled goods and NDP vehicles. The auction cell collected Rs7.08million Customs Duty (CD)applied on seized items sold in the auction whereas the auction cell earned Rs1.93million Sales Tax (ST) and it also received Rs1.30million Additional Income Tax (AIT) from 1st to 15th of May FY16-17. The cell got Rs16.85million all taxes during the month of April 2016-17 through auction of impounded vehicles and smuggled goods.
The cell earned Rs13.21million miscellaneous duty and taxes and surcharges whereas it collected Rs2.08million Sales Tax applied on impounded vehicles and goods. The Kohat Auction Cell also earned Rs1.13million Additional Income Tax whereas the Kohat did Rs0.42million Federal Excise Duty during April FY16-17.
During the month of March FY16-17, sources said the cell received revenue of Rs1.19million miscellaneous duty and taxes and surcharges while it did Rs0.14million Customs Duty on impounded goods and vehicles and the cell collected Rs0.06million Additional Income Tax during March FY2016-17.
