KHYBER AGENCY: An FIR was registered against an accused who attempted to smuggle hashish into Pakistan from Afghanistan.
Torkham Customs Station arrested culprit Kochi Zaman on the charge of smuggling five kg hashish of international standard. Superintendant Naeem seized the drug on Torkham Border when goods were being checked routinely. The custom police arrested the accused and shifted the goods to warehouse.
”Smuggling goes on side by side with the trade” on Torkham border. In order to eradicate smuggling, strict steps are needed to be taken in cooperation with the Afghan Customs to stop smuggling from Afghanistan. He said the Torkham customs is aware of the problem and is trying to check the smuggling of drugs with full force.
