Adjudication collector hears seven cases of smuggling involving Rs73.1m revenue

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig has heard seven smuggled cases involving revenue of Rs73.1million.

The collector heard the cases of smuggled F/O Land Cruiser, Toyota GYGNUS (V-8) No: QAM-4218 (Quetta), Indian origin cloth, Nissan X-Trail No: AAN-772 (Quetta) F/O aluminum foil for packing and other items.

Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation Regional Office filed four cases of confiscated Indian origin cloth along with a smuggled vehicle impounded under Section (U/S 157) loaded with goods and a smuggled Nissan X-trail truck worth Rs45.1million brought into the country without payment of government’s dues.

Two more cases of smuggling were filed by Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mianwali which intercepted foreign origin (F/O) Toyota Land Cruiser with registration No:  ME-1 (Islamabad) and F/O Toyota GYGNUS (V-8) registration No: (4218-Quetta) involving customs duty and taxes of Rs20million.

The collector also heard a case of smuggling F/O aluminum foil for packing of cigarettes (6080-kg) referred by the Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab involving customs duty of Rs8.2million. Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig has adjourned the cases till the next hearing.
