Appraisement East directs NBP to receive only pay-orders with names, NTN of importers

KARACHI: Deputy Collector Research and Development Habib Ahmad of Customs Collectorate of Appraisement (East), Customs House, Karachi has directed all the branches of National Bank of Pakistan not to receive pay-orders regarding any customs duties and taxes unless it has the name and NTN of the importer printed on its front side.

According to a circular C. No: MCC/Misc/61/2017/R&D (East) issued by him, the printing of NTN of the importer on the front side of the pay-order along with his name is now compulsory till further orders.

The office circular stated that in continuation of circular dated May 3, 2017, it has been further directed by the competent authority that with effect from May 25, 2017, no branch of NBP would be allowed to receive any pay-order which does not have the name and NTN of importer clearly visible on the front side.
