All four cases decided in favour of customs; verdicts to be announced later

FAISALABAD: Collector of Customs Adjudication Mirza Mubashir Baig heard about four different cases worth Rs34.5million scheduled for hearing on 1-06-2017.

The single bench heard the cases of Sijjad Zain-ul-Abideen, Muhammad Zain-ur-Rehman, Mussadaq, and Ali Muhammad. All the cases have been decided in favour of customs while the verdicts will be announced later.

Meanwhile, Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig has adjourned the four cases till next date of hearing. Three most important smuggling cases have been filed by Customs Intelligence and Investigation involving customs duty of Rs19million and one case referred was worth Rs16million by the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mianwali.

The cases, including tax evasion, smuggling of different vehicles brought into the country without payment of customs duty and taxes, were scheduled for the day.
