Accountability Court awards 5-year imprisonment in Hajj cheating case

ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court has convicted an accused and sentenced for five year rigorous imprisonment with Rs2.3 million fine in a case of cheating pilgrims, said a statement issued by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday.

The statement said that the Accountability Court Rawalpindi decided Reference filed by NAB Rawalpindi. As per the Reference, the accused Ghulam Qadir Khan in year 2003 cheated the pilgrims who wanted to perform of Hajj by deceitfully collecting money from 105 Hujj on account of provision of accommodation and other facilities during Hajj at Makkah and Madina but did not provided any such services.
