LAHORE: The Punjab government has earmarked Rs 57.477 billion for Water Supply and Sanitation sector in the budget 2017-18 which is 57.27 per cent higher than the budget 2016-17.
According to the budget documents, Rs 9.187 billion has been allocated for ongoing schemes while Rs 23.789 billion has been reserved for new schemes.
An amount of Rs 17.382 billion has been allocated under the Local Development Program and Rs 5.462 billion has been reserved for Prime Minister’s Sustainable Development Goals Programmes.
An amount of Rs 24.5 billion has been set aside for the Punjab Saaf Pani Program.
