LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) stopped the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) from auditing of taxpayers of those whose audits have already been declared null and void by the Inland Revenue Appellate Tribunal. The court also sought a reply from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) within three weeks.
Justice Shahid Jameel Khan heard the appeal filed by the Naeem Industries before the court. The counsel for appellant Muhammad Mohsin Virk contended before the court that the Inland Revenue Appellate Tribunal has declared null and void the tax audit of the company but the FBR, instead of appealing against the order of the tribunal, has started auditing the the company.
The counsel prayed the court to restrain the FBR from the audit of the company. After hearing the arguments, the LHC stopped the FBR from auditing the company and sought the reply within three weeks.
