BEIRUT: Lebanese Customs Wednesday announced that they had intercepted a drug shipment headed for Libya from the Beirut Port, state media reported.
The National News Agency said that Customs had foiled a plan to smuggle around 3,187 kilograms of hashish to Libya. The drugs were neatly and discreetly packed into nylon rolls which were being carried in a container. Several suspects were arrested, and an investigation is underway to locate the rest.
