LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday has restrained the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) from the advance tax collection from three trains. The FBR had sent notices to three trains of Rs200million in advance tax which is payable by the trains management which was challenged in the Lahore High Court.

On Thursday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) heard the petition filed against the advance tax notice to three trains. Tafazal Rizvi appeared before the court on behalf of the appellant and argued that the commissioner Inland Revenue (CIR) exempted trains from advance tax on the one hand and, on the other side, FBR sent notice for advance tax of Rs20million for a week and Rs200million collectively.
