Islamabad AFU generates Rs251m of ADT from Rs864m allocated target from 1st to 12th of June

ISLAMABAD: The Air Freight Unit (AFU) Islamabad collected Rs251million of All Duty Taxes from 1st June to 12th of June of Financial Year 2016-17. The AFU has been assigned Rs864million of All Duty Taxes target for the current month (June) 2016-17.

During above said period, the AFU generated Rs80million of Customs Duty (CD) whereas it did Rs113million of Sales Tax (ST) and the AFU received Rs58million of Withholding Tax (WT).
The Deputy Collector stated that the AFU is trying its level best to meet the allocated target of last month of current financial year. He added that the AFU had geared up its activity regarding the recovery cases and AFU is also struggling to hold auctions.

He further told CT that the AFU will hold another public auction of seized goods on 15th of June on the premises of the AFU. He stated that the AFU will meet its overall revenue target assigned for financial year 2016-17 but Customs Duty target was unexpectedly high. During the rest of the days of current month of June FY16-17, the AFU is expecting some gigantic consignments which will fetch handsome revenue from said import consignments during the next days of current month.
