Govt imposes 1% tax on five export-oriented sectors

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has imposed one percent further sales tax on five export-oriented sectors, which will be implemented from July 1, 2017.

Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in his windup budget speech 2017-18 in the parliament stated that on the recommendations of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) the rate of further tax has been reduced to one percent from two percent.
