Govt reduces customs duty on import of poultry products

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decreased customs duty for value added products used by poultry sector considering more investment and exports.

Federal Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar while winding up the budget speech 2017/2018 in the parliament said that the poultry sector was contributing towards availability of poultry meat at reasonable prices.

He said that considering the increase in investment and expected exports of poultry the government had decided to reduce customs duty on import of value added products used by the sector from 20 percent to 16 percent and from 16 percent to 11 percent.
