Mianwali ASO seizes non duty paid Toyota Corolla Saloon

MIANWALI: The Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mianwali  has seized non duty paid Toyota Corolla (X.E ) Saloon car worth Rs 10,46,400 involving customs duty and taxes amounting to Rs, 5,46,400 under the Customs Act 1969.

As per details, Deputy Collector Usman Tariq received information regarding non duty paid vehicles. He formed a team comprising, Muhammad Umar Bhatti, Azhar Hussain Jafari, Riasat Hussain, sepoys Muhammad Ashraf, Faiz Ahmad, Riaz Ahmad and Muhammad Yousaf.

The team noticed a vehicle bearing registration no: A-1348 (Peshawar) model 1999. The driver namely Zair ullah son of Noor ullah failed to produce the lawful proof of its importation even registration book. He further informed in his statement that the said vehicle is smuggled one and involved in police case. Therefore, The ASO team impounded the vehicle under Section 168 of the Customs Act-1969.

Deputy Collector Usman Tariq forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication. Collector Muhammad Sadiq has appreciated the performance of the Mianwali ASO which foiled various smuggling bids in the region.
