Ukraine imports 4.5bcm of gas for $1.1b in Jan-April

KIEV: Ukraine in January-April 2017 imported 4.51 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas for a total of $1.079 billion.

Thus, according to the State Statistics Service, the average price of gas imported by the country in April was $209.60 per 1,000 cubic meters against $234.70 in March 2017, $252.50 in February and $244.60 in January.

Ukraine from counterparties in Switzerland received 1.772 bcm of gas for $430.694 million, from Germany 1.33 bcm for $318.232 million, France 561.79 million cubic meters worth $136.038 million, Poland 445.318 million cubic meters for $99.541 million, the UK 218.75 million cubic meters for $52.882 million, Hungary 67.729 million cubic meters for $14.753 million, Luxembourg 58.961 million cubic meters for $12.836 million, Austria 26.518 million cubic meters for $6.26 million and Slovakia 22.065 million cubic meters for $5.518 million and Czechia 7.755 million cubic meters for $1.886 million.

Gas was not imported from Russia in 2017.

As reported, with reference to the service, Ukraine in 2016 imported 10.905 billion cubic meters of natural gas for a total of $2.191 billion. All gas was imported from Europe.
