LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has adjourned a case of the accused arrested in a case of huge tax evasion from Lahore.
Investigation team of the Customs Intelligence presented a challan against accused Hassan before the court after the completion of investigation.
Meanwhile, Director of a foam company Lahore has filed a post-arrest bail plea in the Special Federal Court of the Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling that was approved by the court against the personal guarantee and surety bond.
Earlier, the Lahore Customs Intelligence arrested Hassan on the charge of Sales Tax evasion. The Customs Intelligence found a difference of Rs34million in the Sales Tax statements of the Joy Foam.
A First Information Report was registered against him under Section 2 (37) of the Sales Tax Act-1990 and a Customs team presented him before the court in February.
The court has also adjourned two pre-arrest bail pleas of the accused wanted in a case of tax evasion and smuggling.
On Tuesday customs court postponed a case of tax evasion of Gujranwala. A case against Muhammad Sadiq was also put off on Tuesday who is on judicial remand in tyres’ smuggling. Number of post-arrest bail pleas has increased in the special federal court of customs taxation and anti-smuggling as Eid-ul-Fitr is about to come.
The customs court on Tuesday has adjourned three post-arrest bail pleas of the accused in different cases. Cases of tax evasion, smuggling and narcotics were scheduled for hearing before the customs court on Tuesday.
