Hyderabad FIU impounds NDP vehicle valued Rs1.5m during June 2017

HYDERABAD: The Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) Hyderabad has impounded a non-duty-paid vehicle Toyota Hiace Van modelled 1994 worth Rs1.5million involving duty and taxes of Rs1013921 during a raid on Fateh Chowk in Hyderabad during the month of June 2017.

Customs Intelligence Deputy Director Waqar Haroon Malik received a tip-off regarding the non-duty-paid vehicle. He formed a team, comprising Superintendent Qasim Ali Alvi, Intelligence Officer Irfan Ghani, Noor Muhammad Shah, Ahmed Hussain Joneju, Sepoys Muhammad Imran, Ghayas Ahmad Shah, Momin Khan, Azam Ali Chandio, Aslam Chohan, Driver Hanif Soomro, Janib Curb and Rao Abdul Sattar, to impound the vehicle.

The team intercepted the said vehicle with registration No: JF-6599 near Fateh Chowk in City of Hyderabad and asked the owner of the vehicle to produce the legal documents of the import and possession of the vehicle, but he failed to do so.

The officials impounded the vehicle under the customs bylaws and registered a case against the suspect. Now the case will be sent to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action against the accused.
