KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations Quetta conducted three raids and recovered a large number of smuggling items. The seized items included electronics items, Iranian diesel and fake number plates.
The Directorate General also seized a large quantity of Iranian diesel in canes. The customs team recovered 12,000 liters Iranian diesel. Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Customs Preventive Junaid Mehmood received credible information that some smugglers were trying to smuggle Iranian diesel.
He immediately constituted a raiding team. The team enhanced vigilance in the area of Bara market and raided a warehouse. During searching operation, the team found 80 canes of Iranian diesel and arrested two alleged smugglers. Source said that the value of Iranian diesel is Rs 1.2 million.
