First of new fiscal year’s Non-Duty-Paid vehicle valued Rs02m impounded

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Car Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad has impounded the 1st NDP vehicle of the current Financial Year 2017-18. The vehicle is Toyota Hilux Surf modelled 1998 valued Rs02million. The seizure took place on Monday.

According to CT, following a tip-off shared by Collector MCC Dr. Arslan, the Car Cell set up a picket near Rawalpindi city and intercepted a non-duty-paid vehicle with a fake registration No: WAG-894 Quetta. The Car Cell staff asked the possessor to provide the original documents of the vehicle but he failed to do so.
After the firsthand investigation, the Car Cell impounded the vehicle and brought it to the state warehouse. An FIR has been lodged against the owner of the NDP vehicle. The car has been impounded under the Customs Act 1969 and the documents of the vehicle have been sent for further examination to the I&P Department. The vehicle came from Quetta and roaming in the Rawalpindi city.
