Funds for construction of terminal on Wagha Border approved

LAHORE: A new terminal at the Wagha Border is being constructed to facilitate the traders of Pakistan. The departmental development working party of the Federal Board of Revenue has approved the funds of Rs40million for the construction of new terminal.

The District Coordination Officer Lahore will acquire the land for this purpose. Sources of Customs Today said the DCO Lahore will acquire the land of 10 acres on Wagha Border under Section 4. The DCO Lahore has instructed the assistant commissioner Shalimar to acquire the land.

District Government Lahore has also given directions to Tehsildar of the area to facilitate all the departments so that all work could be done properly and on time. Tehsildar has pointed out Khasra and Khatoni number for the specific land which is being acquired.

Sources said Pakistan will complete this terminal of Wagha Dry Port before June 2018. Old trade terminal is not as per requirements of trade volume. New terminal will facilitate both trader and pilgrim equally.
