HYDERABAD: The Collectorate of MCC Hyderabad has seized smuggled Non-Duty-Paid 10 bundles of cloths (cut-pieces) made in China valued, including duty and taxes, Rs3.5million during the recent month of July 2017.
Model Customs Collectorate Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq received a tip-off regarding the transportation of smuggled cloths at bypass Hyderabad. He constituted a team of Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Customs Preventive, to curb the smuggling.
The team, under the supervision of Customs Preventive Additional Collector Rehmatulah Vistro comprising of Superintendent Ghulam Shabbir Phalputo, Inspectors Imdad Ali Abro, Asaduddin Mirza, Iqbal Mughal, Abdul Majeed Barich, Abid Khan and Mushtaq Ali Lakho, Sepoys Nenomal, Luqman, Abdul Razaq, Saddiq Khaskheli, Ghulam Sarwar, Umar Sulangi, Sarwar Ayoub, Hawaldar Muhram Thebo, Muhammad Ahmad Sadiq Khaskheli, Drivers Sher Akbar, Ajaz Saddam, Jawaid Mashkoor and Nisar Ahmedani, took part in the action.
The team intercepted a vehicle Almaka Coach with registration No: A-9999 near Ayuob Hotel bypass Hyderabad and recovered the abovementioned cloths. The coach was going to Punjab from Karachi. The value of the confiscated item is Rs3.5million
According to sources, the raiding anti-smuggling team performed excellently. Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq said our team is showing extraordinary performance in aborting the smuggling attempts in the region.
