The person available in the vehicle introduced himself as a driver and stated his name and address as Muhammad Safique, a resident of Shakarghah, district Narowal.

On inquiry, the person provided registration book of the vehicle and copies of some auction documents.  As the chassis number of the vehicle was appearing suspicious, therefore, the vehicle was detained under Customs Act. The vehicle was sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency for test. However, no one turned up to defend the allegation and the departmental representative attended all the hearing and argued that since it is a smuggled vehicle it falls under section 2(s) automatically.

The department further stated that the chassis number of the said vehicle has been tampered and vehicle checked from PRAL data found as tempered. As no one came to defend the case and no document were provided to confirm the legal import of the vehicle.

It was said that the charges framed by the ASO stands apparently and the collector Adjudication ordered out right confiscation of the Toyota Corolla.
