Faisalabad Customs recovers non duty paid smart phones, bear from airport

FAISALABAD: The Customs staff deputed at Faisalabad International Airport has thwarted an attempt of smuggling of cell phones worth Rs20 million approximately during their action under the leadership of Collector Muhammad Sadiq.

Sources told Customs Today, that Customs authorities received credible information from their source that huge quantity of foreign origin cell phones, bear will be smuggled through various flights coming from Dubai at Faisalabad International Airport.

Following the information of Collector Muhammad Sadiq, constituted a team under the supervision of the Assistant Collector Samad Hamadani to foil attempt of smuggling. Assistant Collector Samad Hamadani directed customs staff to remain vigilant at the time of examination of goods to foil any attempt of smuggling and after the instructions of assistant collector inspection of coming goods were enhanced to avoid any sort of smuggling from Faisalabad International Airport.

Customs teams recovered 1150 branded smart phones (approximately) and bottle of bear caught as well from luggage of two passengers who were coming from Dubai. Smart phones and bear were concealed in their bags and customs team took cell phones, Bottels of bear in their custody for non payment of their duty taxes. Passengers were identified as Muhammad Suleman and Muhammad Waqas. Both passengers were resident of Faisalabad.
