Sara-e-Muhajir FIU impounds Hino truck valued Rs05m

FAISALABAD: The Field Investigation Init (FIU) Sara-e-Muhajir Customs Intelligence has impounded a Hino truck worth Rs05million involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs5.2million during an action.

As per details, Deputy Director Syed Ittrat Hussain received a tip-off regarding the Non-Duty-Paid vehicle. He constituted a raiding team comprising Intelligence Officers Muhammad Saleem and Mansoor Nasir and Sepoys Mukhtar Ahmed, Fakhar Abbas, Muhammad Shehbaz and Usman Iqbal to impound the Non-Duty-Paid vehicle.

The intelligence team intercepted a Hino truck near Chowk Sara-e-Muhajir, District Bhakkar, and asked the owner named Malik Muhammad Javed Akhtar son of Khadim Hussain for showing the documents regarding the customs clearance of the vehicle, but he failed to do so.

The FIU team impounded the vehicle under Section 2KK of the Customs Act-1969 and sent the case to the adjudication for further legal action.
