M/s Naeem Business Int ‘l challenges Order-in-Revision No. 264/2016

KARACHI: A two-member bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) headed by Justice Munib Akhtar has directed the office to attach a petition filed by M/s Naeem Business International with similar other petitions, challenging impugned Order-in-Revision no: 264/2016 issued on November 11, 2016.

Earlier, counsel for the petitioner stated that he is engaged in the lawful business and commercial import of raw materials to manufacture baby diapers. He said that the petitioner honestly discharges all his liabilities and has contributed huge amount to the national exchequer by the way of duties and taxes.

According to the petitioner after seriously aggrieved by and dissatisfied with the order-in-revision no 264/ 2016 dated 11/11/2016 passed by Director General of Valuation who has, inter-alia fixed the values of nonwoven polypropylene spun-band fabric admittedly and unabashedly at the behest of persons purporting to be local manufacturing of the impugned item.

Citing Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, Director General of Customs Valuation, Collector of Customs West as respondents, and counsel for the petitioner pleaded the court may declare that act of the respondent is illegal, mala fide and arbitrary, he also pleaded the court may set aside impugned Order-in-Revision.
