Customs R&A making efforts for improvements in WeBOC Cell: Collector Qurban Ali Khan

PESHAWAR: The Directorate General of Customs Reforms & Automation is making all possible efforts for to end automation of the record provided by the importers and exporters in the WeBOC cell in Customs House Peshawar to facilitate trading.

The sources said that Collector Qurban Ali Khan was informed by the officials of WeBOC cell about the development in the registration process and response of the traders towards WeBOC cell.

The sources said that by now, about 42 modules have already been developed, deployed and operative. Few more are in the making. At the moment, 90% of GDs are filed and processed under WeBOC.

The sources added that 200 notices have been issued for which the registration in WeBOC cell have been increased in all sections after filing the answers of the notices served to them.

The WeBOC cell at Customs Peshawar has not only registered new entries but also have served notices to importers for incomplete records due to which complete documents have been received for calculation of big data.

The collector Customs has praised the work of WeBOC cell and said that due to unprecedented work of Customs officials the number of registered importers and exporters are increased which in tern increase the revenue collection of Pakistan Customs.

The Collector directed the officials to take keen look at the papers which have been provided on  behalf of importers for the reason to eliminate the chances for leakages and discrimination.

He added that users feedback and inputs are highly important for ensuring improvements, efficiency and effectiveness of the automated system. It is therefore, suggested that to inform WeBOC cell about any problem been faced in order to make the system upgraded and evolved.
