Motor branches of Punjab districts get computerised number plates

LAHORE: Computerised number plates have been delivered to motor branches of all districts of Punjab. The computerised number plates are carrying security functions.

As per directions of the Excise and Taxation director general, new number plates having security features have been delivered to motor branches. The Punjab government is trying to end the use of fancy number plates from the province.

The Excise Department has installed its own plant to produce new computerised number plates at Shadman office. This plant can produce 20,000 number plates per day and production can be produced on demand.

Only new security featured computerised number plates are acceptable in the province now. Any vehicle having fancy number plate will be held and the owner could be arrested.
