NEW DELHI: In the rare celestial event the Spanish astronomers are taking the image of two monster stars that may eventually merge and give us a chance to recognize the theory on how supermassive stars are born.
The pair of stars known as MY Camelopardalis by astronomers is located about 13,000 light-years from Earth. The image captured by the telescope at the Calar Alto Observatory in southern Spain, reveal the physical properties of each of the stars including temperature and shape.
The scientists believe that when the two stars will finally merge or ram into each other, the resultant will be a monstrous star which may have at least 60 times the mass of the sun.
