The customs team, comprising Inspector Wahid Ali Khan, Shamim Yousufi and Daulat Khan, set up a picket at the entry and exit points of the city and started checking of the vehicles.

During the checking, the customs team intercepted an oil tanker with registration NO: KA-3812. The team asked the driver of the vehicle to produce the legal documents regarding the transportation of loaded oil but he failed to do so. The customs team arrested the driver and other one and registered a case of smuggling against him. The team recovered the said quantity of Iranian diesel and impounded the truck worth Rs2.3million.

Sources said the Customs Gwadar authorities are using all available resources to curb the smuggling attempts in the region. Due to a strict checking, marginal decrease is being witnessed in the smuggling of Iranian oil.
