Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issues ONO in favour of Customs I&I

FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued an Order in Original (ONO) in favour of the Custom Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad on 31-7-2017.

As per details, customs team confiscated mini truck no: LES-12-1794 loaded with foreign origin motive decorated with Glass 1750 kilograms and asked the owner of the vehicle to show documents regarding possession and transportation of the goods but he remained failed to produce any legal documents. The team confiscated the smuggled decorated glass and vehicle according to section 16, 18 of the Customs Act 1969 and section of Import and Export Control Act 1950 punishable under section 156(1)89 of the Custom Act 1969.

Muhammad Shahbaz son of Muhammad Nawaz appeared before the deputy collector and submitted an affidavit to deal this case on behalf of the respondents and submitted a written request to release the seized smuggled item on payments of duty and taxes and also submitted written application for summary adjudication. While no one appeared by the seizing agency has no objection on release.

Deputy collector Asmaa Hameed issued Order in Original (ONO) No, 119/2017 in favor of the federal government under section 156(1)90 of the Customs Act 1969. However, the option is given under SRO-499 (1) 2009 to redeem the item in lieu of confiscation on payment of duty taxes on the items plus a redemption fine 20% of the customs value to be appraised by the customs Faisalabad under relevant customs law.
