SECP extends date for filing statement of unclaimed amount to Oct 5

ISLAMABAD: Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has extended the date for the filing of statement by companies regarding unclaimed amount for the last three years from August 6 to October 5.

The SECP previously issued directive on July 7 regarding statement of unclaimed or unpaid amounts under Section 244 of the Companies Act, 2017.

The companies are required to submit a statement to the commission through eServices portal within 30 days of issue of the notification stating therein the number or amounts, as the case may be, which remain unclaimed or unpaid for a period of three years from the date is due and payable as of May 30, 2017 in respect of the followings:

  1. Shares of a company or modaraba certificates of a Modaraba have been issued; or
  2. Dividend has been declared by a company or Modaraba;
  3. Any other instrument or amount which remain unclaimed or unpaid, as may be specified.
