Customs North Region generates Rs384m more ST in July than last year’s

ISLAMABAD: The Customs North Region, comprising Model Customs Collectorate (Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Samberial and Peshawar), earned Rs383.63million extra Sales Tax (ST) during July Financial Year FY2017-18 against the same head during corresponding period of July FY2016-17. The Customs North Region generated Rs1199.06million of ST during July FY17-18 while it did Rs815.43million during July FY16-17.

According to details given by Sarwat Tahira Habib, Chief Collector North, while talking with Customs Today, that, during July FY17-18, the Model Customs Collectorate, working under the umbrella of Customs North Region, showed 30 to 40% hike against the same period of last 2016-17. During July FY17-18, the Collectorate of Islamabad received surplus amount of Rs404.73million of ST against the take of Rs324.73million under the same head during July FY16-17. The MCC Islamabad surpassed the revenue during July FY17-18 with the growth of 24.84%.
She further said that, during above said period, the Collectorate of Peshawar got Rs635.64million of ST against the collection of Rs393.64million during yesteryear of FY16-17. The MCC Peshawar surpassed the revenue collection with the growth of 61.35% during July FY17-18 against last July FY16-17.
The collectorate of Samberial earned a surplus amount of Rs32.23million of ST during July FY17-18 against the take of Rs19.99million during the same period of corresponding year. In the light of above said surplus performance, the MCC Samberial stood plus with 61.22% percent of growth against the previous year.
The GB generated Rs126.46million surplus ST during July FY17-18 against the collection of Rs77.30million during the same period of last Financial Year FY16-17. The Collectorate of GB stayed surplus with Rs63.59million take during July FY17-18 against the same period of yesteryear 16-17.
