Customs Court approves physical remand of suspects in white spirit smuggling case

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved a three day-physical remand of two suspects who were arrested in a white spirit smuggling case

According to details, Jamil Akhtar and Munir Hussain were arrested by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation team from Multan Road during a routine checking. The customs team found a tanker filled with smuggled white spirit. Accused Jamil Akhtar and Munir Hussain were trying to smuggle the spirit. The total quantity of the recovered sprit was more than 60,000 liter. The Customs team arrested the accused and confiscated the tanker as well. The Customs investigation team arrested both the accused while they were making an attempt to smuggle that tanker from Afghanistan to Lahore.
