ASO Islamabad impounds vehicles & various goods worth Rs21.88m during July 22 to 27

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad took into possession various smuggling goods, two Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) and five offending vehicles (Vehicles used for carrying smuggled goods) valued at Rs21.88million during July 22 to 27 FY2017-18.

According to details given by Deputy Collector ASO Ansir Anees, the ASO showed outstanding performance during above said period and made 15 huge seizures against the possessors of NDP vehicles, smuggling goods and offending vehicles and registered FIRs against them.
During said period, the ASO impounded five offending vehicles which include Ford Wagon M-3526, Bedford truck C-2255, Toyota Corolla car RLC-8929, Mazda truck TKW-285 and Hino truck TKT-030 worth Rs5.70million while it took into possession two NDP vehicles which include Toyota Hilux Surf BB-194-A-Sindh and Toyota land cruiser Sj-607-ICT valued at Rs6.42million.
The Deputy Collector told CT that, during 22nd to 27th of July FY2017-18, the ASO seized foreign origin 3970 kilogram of fabric priced at Rs3.582million, 2,695 numbers of smuggled auto parts valued at Rs4.56million, 1,500 kg smuggled toys worth Rs0.275million, 120 kilogram of smuggled black tea priced at Rs0.037million, 300 numbers of smuggled blankets worth Rs0.094million, 130 numbers of LED TVs valued at Rs1.31million, 173 numbers of mobile phones priced at Rs0.174million and various smuggled medicines worth Rs0.0084million.
Deputy Collector told CT that, under the guidance of Chief Collector North and Collector MCC Islamabad, the performance of the ASO Islamabad has been better against the corresponding period.
