Customs Sukkur impounds NDP smuggled diabetes testing sticks at Jacobabad in July 2017-18

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sukkur has seized smuggled foreign origin 525 packs of sugar checking sticks valued Rs315000 involving duties and taxes of Rs109305 during a raid on a check-post at Jacobabad in July 2017-18.

The ASO, following a tip-off received through Hyderabad Customs Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq, under the supervision of Additional Collector Rehmatulah Vistro, conducted a raid to confiscate the smuggled items. The ASO team, comprising In-charge ASO Larkana Aziz Katpar, Inspector Agha Nazir, Ray Abro, Inspector Nasrullah Gilal, a sepoy and a driver, participated in the action.

The team prevented the goods at the check-post of Jacobabad, unloaded them from the vehicle and recovered the said sugar testing sticks.

The market value of the impounded items is Rs424308 lakh including duties and taxes during the above said period. The accused fled the scene after leaving the contrabands goods behind. Further investigations are underway.
