HCCI for action against unjustified fee hike by private schools

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) has requested the Sindh Education Department to take notice of the sudden and unjustified fee hikes made by the private schools in whole province.

The HCCI’s Vice President Muhammad Ziauddin complained that the private schools continue to burden the parents of children by unjustifiably increasing the school fee in frequent intervals, said a press statement issued here Wednesday.

“The private schools have been making 30 percent or more increase in the fee against what the official rules allow. They force the parents to pay up to 6 months school fee in advance,” he claimed. He maintained that the exorbitant fee structures had become a barrier in

acquiring quality education in the province, adding that only the elite class could afford education of their children in such schools.Ziauddin urged the Sindh government to ensure that its rules with regard to the school fee were completely implemented and bring an end to exploitation of the parents.
