ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman has said that NAB considers the fight against graft its national duty.

He said this while chairing a meeting to review the performance of NAB HQ and regional bureaus on the basis of mid-term inspection conducted by Chairman’s Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI&MT) on the basis of newly introduced Quantified Grading System (PQGS) at NAB Headquarters.

The team gave a detailed briefing to Chairman NAB about the mid-term inspection done by (CI&MT) and highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of NAB HQ and all regional bureaus.

He informed the meeting that on the directions of NAB Chairman, Quantified Grading System (PQGS) was devised in 2014. Under this Quantified Grading System (PQGS), the performance of NAB HQ and all NAB’s regional bureaus are being reviewed since 2014 at uniform criteria.

NAB Chairman appreciated midterm inspection of NAB HQ and all regional bureaus. He said that corruption is the mother of all evils. NAB is committed to eradicating corruption by adopting Zero Tolerance Policy as corruption creates hurdles in development and deprives people of their due right.

He said that NAB is Pakistan’s apex anti-corruption organisation which has chalked out a proactive Anti-Corruption Strategy for the elimination of corruption through a holistic approach of awareness, prevention and enforcement and to arrest corrupt and recover looted money from them and deposit in the national exchequer.

He said that NAB’s proactive Anti-Corruption Strategy has been hailed by national and international organisations which is a matter of pride for Pakistan.
