Customs staff vows to work honestly for progress, prosperity of Pakistan

LAHORE: A simple and graceful flag hoisting ceremony was held in Custom House Lahore in connection with 70th Independence Day on August 14, 2017. The ceremony was attended by the officers and staff of Customs Central Region.

The ceremony began with parade by a smartly contingent of the Customs staff. Collectors of Customs Collectorate of Preventive Lahore Faiz Ahmad and Collector Customs Appraisement Lahore Jamil Nasir Khan hoisted the flag which was followed by national anthem and salute to the national flag. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the prosperity of Pakistan.

Addressing the participants, the newly posted Collector Faiz Ahmed said, “We are true Pakistanis and have to serve our country honestly and without taking any pressure.” He advised his staff to work honestly and devotedly to make Pakistan Customs corruption free. He also advised them to use all available resources to achieve revenue collection target assigned to the Collectorate of Customs Preventive for financial year 2017-18.

Collector Faiz Ahmed said that August 14 brings us happiness. He said that we are proud to be Pakistani and for this purpose we have to work honestly for the progress and prosperity of the our country. He said Pakistan Customs is playing vital role for curbing smuggling attempts in the region. He said that Customs anti smuggling squads are foiling smuggling attempts without caring their life. He said that Pakistan Customs is also contributing a lot for national economy in collection of revenue. He said that Customs Central Region under the supervision of Chief Collector Zeba Hai Azhar is progressing while on the other hand she have taken a number of steps for the betterment of customs staff. He said that that as a true Pakistani, it is our duty to spend Independence Day with pledge that we will spare no stone unturned for development of our country.

Collector Faiz Ahmed in his address said that he is quite optimistic that due to hectic efforts and comprehensive strategy adopted by Customs Central Region all the four Collectorates will definitely achieve  revenue collection target of Financial Year 2017-17 positively. He said that Quaid-e-Azam gives us lesson of unity, faith and discipline and we have to follow his teachings from the core of our hearts.
