Customs Gwadar seizes plastic powder & computer accessories

KARACHI: The Collectorate of Gwadar team has confiscated a big quantity of non-duty-paid black plastic Dana (Plastic Powder) and computer accessories worth Rs3.7million.

According to details, on a tip-off regarding the possible smuggling of non-duty-paid black plastic Dana and computer accessories in Jewani area, Gwadar Collector Saeed Jadoon constituted a team of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Khan Bahadur.

The team, during a search operation, intercepted a truck with registration No: SK-8727 which was going from Gwadar to Mirpur Khas. During the search, the customs team found 150 bags of black plastic Dana and computer accessories like 50 LED monitors and more than 100 portable hard-disks.

The team impounded all the items and a truck which was being used to smuggle these goods and arrested three persons identified as Shahmir Ali, Imdad Chang, and Muhammad Waris, all residents of Gwadar.

An FIR has been registered against the accused persons. Sources said that this is the 6th raid during the month of August. Collector Gwadar Saeed Jadoon said our team is showing excellent performance by frustrating the smuggling attempts in the region.
