NAB officials have also requested to allow initiation of separate investigation against the officials of K-Electric because national exchequer had faced heavy losses due to adjustment of stolen gas under the head Unaccounted for Gas (UFG).

NAB in its report revealed that K-Electric formerly known as Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) had stolen 130mmcfd gas from the gas pipeline of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to run its 1230mw power plant installed at Port Qasim. This gas theft caused billions of rupees loss to SSGC, which was continued from last many years. The precious gas was stolen allegedly in connivance with administrations of both the SSGCL and K-Electric.
