Intelligence officer Khurram Saeed exonerated from charges

ISLAMABAD: Khurram Saeed, an Intelligence officer (BS-16), has been exonerated from the charges levelled against him.

The disciplinary proceedings, under Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973, were initiated against Khurram Saeed, posted at Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation-FBR (Customs Anti-Smuggling), Karachi, vide charge sheet No.17(7)MC-IV/2016(ii) dated 27.07.2016.

Syed Asad Raza Rizvi, the then Additional Collector (BS-19), Model Customs Collectorate (Preventive), Karachi, was appointed as inquiry officer to conduct inquiry into the charges levelled against the officer.

According to inquiry report, the charges levelled against the accused officer have not been established. The authorized officer/Chief (Management-Customs), therefore, acquitted/exonerated Khurram Saeed from the charges levelled against him. He has also been reinstated into government service from the date of his suspension i.e May 23, 2016 and his period of suspension will be treated as having been spent on duty.
