Peshawar Customs earns Rs20.2546m more AIT during one month

PESHAWAR: The MCC Peshawar has generated Rs20.2546million more A.I.T from July 23, 2017-18 till August 23, 2017-2018 than last year. The total amount of Rs339.6937million as A.I.T was earned from 23rd of July 2016-17 till 23rd of August 2016-17 in the previous financial year.

The Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar has received Rs359.9483million as A.I.T Duty and Rs14.9891million of Federal Excise Duty from July 23, 2017-2018 till August 23, 2017-2018.

The MCC Peshawar has achieved excellent collection mark from 23rd of July 2017-2018 till 23rd of August 2017-18 in the current financial year, sources told Customs Today on Wednesday at the Customs House Peshawar.

The MCC Peshawar performed excellently and earned Rs3.258million more Federal Excise Duty in this FY from 23rd of July 2017-2018 till 23rd of August 2017-18 than Rs11.7311million revenue earned by doing Federal Excise Duty from 23rd of July 2016-17 till 23rd of August 2016-17 of the previous financial year.

The Customs House Peshawar, headed by Collector Customs Gul Rehman from the second month of the current Financial Year, sees not a very tough Job which seems that Pakistan Customs faced transition period from Tax Collection Department to Customs Law enforcement agency.

According to details, the Dry Port Peshawar has earned Rs104.25million revenue by collecting applied A.I.T while it did a Federal Excise Duty of Rs3.43million from 23rd of July 2017-18 till 23rd of August 2017-2018. The Dry Port Peshawar in the previous FY from July 23, 2016-17 till August 23, 2016-17 was able to receive Rs99.876million as A.I.T and Rs2.54million of F.E.D during the same time period of previous financial year.

The Torkham Customs Station has collected Rs198.0666million by receiving A.I.T applied on items. There has been a generation of zero excise duty collected and the total revenue got through impounding various goods which was Rs9.3733million from 23rd of July 2017-2018 till 23rd of August 2017-18. The Torkham Customs Station has earned an amount of Rs12.5478million more A.I.T in this FY from July 23rd ,2017-18 till August 23rd, 2017-18 than the previous FY from July 23, 2016-17 till August 23, 2016-17.

The Kohat-SWH/KA has generated an equal amount of Rs21.505million by collecting A.I.T applied on items whereas the Kohat Auction Cell has did Rs6.765million from 23rd of July 2017-2018 till 23rd of August 2017-18. The Kohat-WWH/KA was able to collect Rs17.678million from July 23rd, 2016-17 till August 23, 2016-17.

The Hazara Customs Station has succeeded to generate an amount of Rs13.195million as A.I.T while there has been a zero Federal Excise Duty and the total revenue received by confiscating miscellaneous goods is Rs1.8391million from 23rd of July 2017-2018 till 23rd of August 2017-18. The Hazara Customs Station was only able to earn Rs3.456million more A.I.T from previous financial year from July 23, 2016-17 till August 23, 2016-17.

The MCC Peshawar was able to collect more AIT and F.E.D in this financial year from July 23, 2017-18 till August 23, 2017-18 than the previous financial year from July 23, 2016-17 till August 23, 2016-17.
