Export of Russian wheat in Bangladesh is growing steadily

MOSCOW: On 20 and 21 August 2017 in Dhaka the Russian delegation with the participation of JSC “VO Prodintorg held talks with the Ministry of food of Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi state company “the Directorate General of food” on the conditions of supply in Bangladesh Russian wheat. Following the talks, the sides agreed on deliveries of Russian wheat to Bangladesh in the amount up to 200 thousand tons until December 2017. To start shipping the first batch is expected in September 2017.

In the framework of the agreements of the agricultural Ministers of Russia and Bangladesh in November 2016. successfully completed the first phase of the project for the supply of Russian wheat to Bangladesh through government organizations. Under the contract between the state companies of JSC “VO Prodintorg and the Directorate General for food Ministry of Food people’s Republic of Bangladesh in the format of “G to G” was delivered 200 thousand tons of Russian wheat. Reference: In 2016 compared to 2015, the trade of agricultural products and foodstuffs between Russian Federation and Bangladesh has increased 1.7 times and amounted to 330 million dollars. The basic commodity positions in the structure of exports from Russia to the territory of Bangladesh in terms of value in 2016 were wheat and meslin.
