Customs Intelligence seizes non-duty paid car from Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD: Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Federal Board of Revenue Rawalpindi has seized a non duty paid smuggled foreign origin used vehicle Toyota Altis Corolla Car worth Rs 1,000,000.

According to details, the staff of Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation FBR Rawalpindi, intercepted a non-duty paid smuggled foreign origin used Toyota Altis car near Petrol Pump sector F-6/1, Islamabad bearing fake registration no: AAA 462 SIBI color dark gray having chassis no. MRB54 ZSX 107056083, (1598 CC).

On demand, the driver of car Muhammad Tuseef Nasir failed to produce any import, auction or any other document except the photo copy of registration book.

As per import and auction data available with the directorate general, no import and auction record exists. Therefore, the team o seized the vehicle Toyota Altis and shifted to the headquarter sector G-10, under section 17 of the Customs Act,1969 for further verification of its import status and payment of duty and taxes and forensic Lab test.

After the report of lab test from Islamabad Police and further confirmation from PRAL, and motor registration authority SIBI, it has been confirmed that there is no record exist regarding the vehicle Toyota Altis, therefore FIR has been lodged and matter has been sent to Collector Adjudication.
